Couldn’t resist

I just couldn’t resist using up some more of my Jolly by Golly to make a few last Christmas cards. These were created with very small scraps leftover from a project I’ll share on Friday with you. It just goes to show you, you don’t need a lot to make a fun little project. The second card is a tiny one that I’m going to use as a gift tag on a present.

A few quick things as well…don’t miss  commenting on this post for a chance to win a couple Scrapblocks in my giveaway. We also have a fun Christmas giveaway on Every Thing Creative. Check it out here.

Just two more sleeps until Christmas! Have a wonderful day!

A Little More Christmas…

I have some children who are counting the days until Christmas here. They’re now off for the two week holiday and bursting with energy and sugar of course.  Yesterday I held a Christmas dinner at home for my side of the family and we’ve all eaten quite well and then some. I love Christmas time and we had a very lovely day with family. Sorry for the slim posts in the past week but one can only do so much. I’m thrilled that my shopping is now done, some of it wrapped and I’m finally in a place where I can enjoy things a little more.Of course, I haven’t sent out a single Christmas card yet so that may be at the top of the agenda tomorrow! I wonder how many I can get written before the mail comes around 10am?

I have a couple quick Christmas cards left to share with you today. I just adore the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly line and have been having some fun with the chipboard and the 6×6 pad. The first design is a quick one with a hand-stitched garland.

Christmas Bells

The second is another Card Patterns Sketch…#44.   I’ve added a fun ruffle made with a strip of Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas under the ribbon.

Home for the Holidays

Well…I still have to do some baking and I hear the boys back from the store with my eggs so I’ll say goodbye.

Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful weekend!

It’s a Stick Up

It’s the time of year that just keeps getting busier and busier! Can you believe just seven weeks left till Christmas?! Sorry if I’m scaring someone. 🙂 I’ve started a little of  my holiday shopping already and hope to be mostly done by the end of this month. This year I really want to slow things down a little. I’m also making a commitment to actually MAILING my Christmas cards this year. Novel concept I know. sigh. That being the case I want them ready to go by the end of this month. That means a few more quick cards for me. Having just finished this super easy and quick Christmas card using Basic Grey chip stickers, I thought it would make a good challenge. So stick’em up and pull out your stickers. Let’s have some fun! Check out the challenge here…

Thinking about Christmas

While I’m in the mood for getting ahead this year, I thought I’d share a couple other Christmas projects I’ve created. Decorating for the holidays is always fun and paper crafting some handmade decorations is a great way to make them special.

This first decoration is a stamped image that I’ve placed in a two inch square Ranger Memory Frame. A sentiment is then stamped right on the Memory Glass with Black Stazon Ink.

Believe Santa Ornament

jks-believe-santa-ornament.jpg

This image is Santa’s Lap from CHF and is colored with Copic Markers. I’m going to put this glass frame on a present as the gift tag and then the recipient can hang it on their tree.

TK Christmas Ornament

jks-tk-christmas-ornament.jpg

Michael’s carries some great paper mache ornaments and one of them in this star shape. For a fun quick ornament, I covered one with some Thomas Kinkade Christmas paper and then sponged the edges. After adhering a little blue velvet ribbon around the edges, a few quick embellishments finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to take the time this morning to wish you a very special Christmas. Amidst the  business of family and food and presents, I just wanted to sit down and think about the true meaning of Christmas, the greatest gift of all.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end Isaiah 9:6,7

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Luke 1:30-33

Snowy Kindness

Need a special holiday thank you? Thanks what I designed this card for. To put in with a hostess gift for a friend. December’s Stamp of the Month is one of my favorites and a couple of stamps I’ll be using again and again. I love how beautiful this fir branch is stamped in greens, but especially in the white Stazon Ink on a Clear Card Sheet. This card may be simple with very few layers but the hand-stitching and the die cut window make it a little special.

Kindess Beautifies

jks-kindness-like-snow.jpg

To create this card, I stamped a Clear Card Sheet with the fir branch  in White Stazon on the reverse side. I then flipped it and stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon on the front. While it wouldn’t look like a difference here in the photo, in real life it adds a little dimension and makes the sentiment easier to read and stamp. The window is die cut and embossed with my Labels one Spellbinders die and then the clear sheet adhered behind. To add some color, I die cut a solid patterned paper panel for the inside and then stitched around the front of the card with red embroidery thread.

Quick Tip: Change up the red to a more neutral icy color such as blue or purple and use this design all winter long.

Joy

jks-holiday-joy-flat.jpg

Well…it’s almost here! Just six more days until Christmas! We’re actually celebrating one of our Christmases tomorrow with sixteen here for turkey tomorrow. I’m going to be a busy girl! Today I’m baking squash and making cheesecake and stuffing. Yummmm!

This card is kind of a mixed bag. Mostly a scrappy style card with some stamped touches, this card picks up its unique color combo from the Fancy Pants Designs Christmas paper.

Holiday Joy

jks-holiday-joy.jpg

To make this card a little more “Christmassy” , I stamped holly sprays around the sentiment panel and colored them in with Copic Markers. Some white gel pen highlights tie in with the white American Crafts foam letters.

Quick Tip: Substitute fun embellishments such as this Making Memories Grommet for letters when spelling out a word.

Have a joyful day!
