happy New Year

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a year of blessing and joy!

I’m starting off the new year by looking back with another page of my canvas album. Today I’m sharing another wedding page with some fun techniques…painting on  canvas, stamping with paint and some fun ways to use the Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas. Did you know the only paper used on this layout is the Prima paper flowers? Not even the photo is on paper. I hope you’ll join me today in the CLASSroom for the tutorial and the Seventh Day of Christmas celebration.

It’s about Time

It’s about time…

to celebrate the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010. Wow! A brand new decade to boot! It’s amazing how fast this year has flown by. It was a bit of a crazy one for us and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.

I thought this would be the perfect time to have a challenge about time. Find ways to use it. Of course we all use our time to create pretty designs but how about working the concept of time into a project. A calendar, a clock image, a countdown, I’d even count an over the hill card! Have fun with this challenge and be sure to play along here.

2010 Glitz

I know this is supposed to be a stamping challenge but you’ll have to look close to find the stamping in this design. I truly meant to add a little more but hey! I was having fun so it’s all good. At least I think so.

Wishing you a year of blessing to come,

Retro Wednesday

It’s cold outside! We’re finally getting lots of snow after a very non-white Christmas and we’re loving it. Although it makes travel a bit  of a pain, we’re nice and cozy at home and the boys and the puppy are enjoying it immensely. I had a great day yesterday getting things done. We’re starting a new renovation project and did a lot of furniture moving and then I got to spend the afternoon in my craft room. It was exciting to get back in there and cook up some creations.

I also wanted to take the time to mention that Ellen Hutson has the Twelve Days of Christmas going on in the CLASSroom right now. The projects are incredible and each post has an exciting giveaway that you won’t want to miss. Make sure you comment on them all!

You are Hot

jks-you-are-hot.jpg

I love mixing up patterns and this June Bug paper was so much fun to work with. It’s not specifically designed as a valentine line but I think all the red makes it work well. I love this Domestic Love stamp set that Becky Olsen designed. It’s SO much fun! Vintage and quirky and easy to use.

Supply List: Domestic Love stamp set by CHF,  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Tsukineko, June Bug 6×6 paper pad, Simply Smooth White cardstock by CHF, Binding Edge Punch by EK Success, sewing machine, button by Autumn Leaves, twine, ribbon by Adorn It

Keep warm and keep creating!

Adore Him…A Christmas Day Wish

Merry Christmas! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I truly appreciate each one of you who do.

Today I just wanted to share a card with you that remembers the true meaning of Christmas.

O Come let us Adore Him

o-come-close-up.jpg

I’ve written a tutorial for this card on the CLASSroom today. Check it out here if you’re interested.

I also want to wish you and yours, the merriest of Christmases and a year of blessing to come.

With love,

Twas the Night Before Christmas

It’s the day before Christmas and I’m busy scurrying around. Pies to bake, laundry and cleaning to do, last minute presents to wrap. Anyone else? Oh well…it will all get done! Even though it’s the 24th, it’s still Thursday and I have a challenge for those of you who actually have some creating time today. I’ve kept it super simple…the challenge is to find ways to use Background Stamps. I know we’ve done this one before but not for a while and it’s always a fun challenge. Check out the challenge here.

It’s also time to announce the winner of the two scrapblocks from my giveaway this week. Number 27 was chosen by the random.org number generator. Congratulations Paula Bairn! Please send me your address and I’ll get them in the mail. Merry Christmas to you and all my readers. Thanks for all your lovely comments and for taking the time to read my blog. I truly appreciate it!
B Mine

For my card, I’ve used the Love Scrapblock again. It was on my desk so I hope you won’t mind seeing it again. This Scrapblock is a collage of words and sentiments. For the Background challenge, I’ve used is as the background and then stamped it again and cut out one of the phrases for my sentiment. I’ve also stamped the tag with another background, the Newspaper Ads Scrapblock.

Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas!

love is in the air and a little something to share…

It’s been so busy the past week that I totally missed out on the latest Scrapblock release. I love scrapblocks as they are super huge background stamps that can be used for so many things. Altered projects, layouts and others but I especially love using them on cards as you can change the orientation easily. No longer are you stuck with a vertical background stamp, especially when using words. I designed the love sentiments with baby and family pages as well as wedding and valentine themes in mind so that you could get the most mileage from this stamp. The Love Scrapblock is available from Cornish Heritage Farms and soon to be at Ellen Hutson LLC.

Love Scrapblock

I love stamping on kraft…you know I do. Text always looks great stamp monochromatically as well a myriad of different ways. For this design the words support the theme of the card.

While I love layered collage style cards, I also love clean and simple too. The card is fun as the scrapblock has been stamped with Watermelon Adirondack Pigment ink onto cardboard. Just in case you’ve ever wanted some custom printed cardboard. 🙂 I roughed up the edges a little and peeled back the top layer to peek at the corrugated one in places. I thought this would make a great guy card.

And now for the something to share…

scrapblock-giveaway.jpg

I thought someone might like to stamp their way into the new year. These two scrapblocks are 6×6 inches square and can be used without an acrylic block. I usually just lay mine face up on my work surface, ink and then press the paper onto the rubber.  To enter, please leave a comment on this post between now and 8 am EST December 24th. I’ll be randomly drawing one winner from comments to mail this rubber to. Please leave only one comment. Thanks and good luck!

Of Inchies & Twinchies

regal-inchies-close.jpg

I’ve been having some fun playing with some new Inchies and Twinchies. I’m sure you’ve seen Inchies. One inch little squares of cuteness. They are now available in other colors besides black and white. For my first card I had a little stamping fun creating a collage with some of the different Assorted Neutral Inchies.

jks-regal-inchies.jpg

To stamp a collage with the elements going from one color to the next, simply butt them up together and stamp before adhering to your card with spaces in between.

Cozy Christmas

cozy-christmas.jpg

For this Cozy Christmas design, I had some fun creating a unique layout with some darling Cosmo Cricket mini papers, Jolly by Golly. Cute, cute, cute! I used the new black Twinchie to form a tag for my main sentiment layer.  You can probably guess that Twinchies are just like inchies only two inchies square in size.To embellish my design I used Dew Drops to add dimension to the little paper hats. The sentiment is a sweet definition from Hero Arts, Three Holiday Messages.

Happy Creating!
