A Faithful Friend

It’s a sad morning in the Stainton household. Our very dear and faithful friend passed away in the night. We’ll miss his constant presence, his warm brown eyes, his gentleness. Sherman was born on our farm Christmas Day 1997 as one of thirteen puppies. He was the one we chose to keep and named him Sherman after the tank…he was a very sturdy build. He loved “patrolling” the borders of our property and playing with the kids. He never cared how rough they were but when tired of the rough-housing would just stand up, shake them off and lumber off. I knew that Sherman was getting older and have been keeping a special eye on him. He rarely left the porch except when he needed to. He seemed content to lie in the sun. It was a bit of a surprise to go out this morning and not find him there. We found him behind the house as if he were sleeping.

Sherman was a very special dog and will be missed.

I don’t have a card for you this morning and will be back with the WT challenge next week. If you check out the SCS forums, Cindy Coutts has kindly stepped in to host for me today.

Take care,

Julia
