Here in Canada we’re not only finishing out July, it’s the start of the Civic Holiday long weekend. Yippee for an extra day off! I thought I’d finish out the month with another “Christmas in July” design. Today also brings another B & O Railroad release. If you’re thinking that means just trains…think again. They have a large collection of fabulous vintage art and just look at this sweet Stocking Elves image below. I adore silhouettes!

Have a fabulous summer weekend!

It’s a wonderful thing to work every day with people who are so talented  but also have wonderful personalities, stick with you on the good and bad days and just seem to “click” with you. I work with two of those people who have become very dear friends. Becky Olsen is one of them, Lisa Strahl the other.  It’s Becky’s birthday today and this card is for her. Now that I think of it, perhaps I should have used some of Becky’s awesome stamps on this design. Instead I used my own. Great friend I know but I think she’ll forgive me. I just couldn’t resist using a few stamps from my August release so you’re getting a super early sneak peek. 🙂 I designed this card to be fun, sweet, whimsical, colorful and exuberant, just like Becky herself. Happy birthday my friend!

Birth Date Wishes

I paired up some of my new stamps with the Newspaper Ads scrapblock and scraps from a Lemonade 6×6 paper pack by Basic Grey. I seriously cannot get enough of it. Prepare to see lots of it as I cannot bear to throw out a single scrap! For this project I color blocked and stitched it together to form my main background layer.

A Christmas puppy design to share with you today. Today’s Sara England release is so super sweet. I’ve cut out the image but they actually come as one stamp. This is some rubber you’ll want to use your markers on and then be able to stamp all the colors at once. I love adding stitching elements to my projects but instead of using my sewing machine, this time I pierced a circle and then hand-stitched using a running stitch.

As for our new puppy…he’s settling in very well. More frisky each day. He has quite a penchant for shoes, lawn furniture and sand toys!

Quick Tip: Cut apart the snowflakes from a piece of Queen & Co. die cut felt strip for an inexpensive embellishment.
