Ink Pads for Sale…

Well, my week “off” has been spent working from early morning until 10 at night. 🙂 So many things to catch up on. All those things I’ve let slip with the extra work of the renovation in full gear. I’m still having to feed seven people each day without a kitchen. We do order in once a week but really…it is just not cost effective (or healthy for that matter) to eat fast food all the time. I’m still working hard with lots of projects and a huge to do list for the rest of the week. It does feel good to be getting things done though!
One of the things I’ve been super busy doing is going through all my stamps, paper and ink and trying to get organized. I’m still looking forward to that new stamp room but until then…I’m doing my best. My local stamp store has a garage sale twice a year and a lot of my goodies are going there. 🙂 As I can’t sell opened ink pads etc. as part of their terms, I’d love to find them a good home from my blog. I’d like to turn these around quickly so I’m selling ink pads and reinkers together. I’d like to sell a minimum of four pads per order and would just accept Paypal for this sale. Your best value for shipping costs are a higher number of pads. I charge actual shipping costs…no handling. Also…should you buy 11 pads, I will add a 12th of your choice for free. 🙂 Ink will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Items will be crossed off when spoken for. Please allow me 12 hours to respond to your e-mail. Please e-mail me with your postal code by clicking on the link just under my photo in the sidebar.

All ink pads are in good condition. Covers may be slightly stained from use but the pads themselves should give you many years of happy use. Reinkers are all full or almost full. Please note: I am not a SU demonstrator. All ink pads are Classic Dye Inks by Stampin Up. Prices are the same in US or Canadian 🙂 Why am I switching? I’ve loved these ink pads, but professionally need to change to a more retail-friendly line. 🙂

Thank you so much! These inks are all sold except for the Craft Spots in the above post.

Just popping in to say…

Hi! I thought I’d share this fun little dotted card I created. This layout is from a PaperCrafts sketch layout. I thought it would be fun to try it out as it is a layout I would never think to try. Now this is another scrappy card, but bear with me…I’ll have a stamped design for you again soon.

I also just wanted you to know…I’m taking the week off. 🙂 Nope…not going anywhere and it is hardly going to be relaxing, but with this renovation…I just need some time to focus on that. My goal this week is to stay off the computer as much as possible and get a lot done. My good news is the concrete in the kitchen is curing well and we’ll probably be able to start tiling the floor in another week. I’ve been three and a half weeks without a kitchen and probably another 3 to go but we are surviving. So….what does this mean…I probably won’t be able to resist popping on and sharing a design or two this week but I won’t be posting every day. Wish me luck! 😉

Simply Saturday…a quick Easter Design

Today I thought I’d share a quick Easter design with you…

Just a fun, quick little Easter design. I just love the pretty little chicks on this patterned paper. Wouldn’t they make a darling baby card as well? Unfortunately…I made this card a little while ago and I just can’t think of the name of this paper! I hate it when that happens!

Spring Chicks

jks-spring-baby-chicks-card.jpg

Because the patterned paper on this design was soooo subtle…I had to keep the layout and other colors subtle as well. I stitched the patterned paper onto my white cardstock base to add some subtle interest and texture. Some green velvet May Arts ribbon adds softness and gives a place to “anchor” the tag and flower embellishments. The little tag is a vellum tag that has been layered with punched cardstock circles. In the center, a white Spring Basic Grey rub-on adds the sentiment…colored eggs & baby chicks & baskets. I love the little egg sentiment paired up with the chicks. Prima flower, rub-ons and May Arts ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Hope your Saturday is simply wonderful. Happy Easter!

Hope….

I just wanted to pop in with a card design to share with you today. I love this card as it reminds me of spring. The colors, the birds, the hope sentiment. Spring is such a time of hope and on this Good Friday I’m thinking of the hope I have for the future, a blessed hope.

Spring Hope

jks-spring-hope-copy.jpg

This is a quick simple scrappy style card. The patterned paper is from Scenic Route Paper Co. I love there strip paper with words, colors and patterns all in one easy to use layer. I believe this particular paper is from their Laurel line. To create this card, I simply distressed the edges and adhered to Kraft cardstock. Using my SU mat pack template, I pierced holes around the design then stitched with Linen Thread. The Hope sentiment is from Royal and Langnickel…their Faith Sentiments rub-on transfers. A beautiful Prima flower set with a K & Co. brad finish it off.

I’m off to spend some more time with my family. It’s a holiday today here in Canada and I’m enjoying the quiet (as quiet as five kids home gets) day. 🙂

Wishing you a beautiful day,

Tag…a challenge

It’s Thursday again and time for another Ways to Use it Challenge! This week we are revisiting an old challenge from three years ago. Gasp! I can hardly believe it has been that long! This week I challenge you to use tags in your project. Whether you design a tag, make a tag book, used metal edged or paper tags on your design…any tag, any size, any concept…just have fun with it! I love tags and find I rarely make them. For that matter, rarely use them in my projects either. How about you? So I hope today you’ll consider yourself tagged and have some fun with this challenge. Here’s the link! WT158 🙂

BTW…I’ve been blog tagged by quite a few lovely bloggers over the past few weeks. Thanks so much! I will seriously try and find some time to keep it going. I’ve just been so swamped with the reno etc. I haven’t had the time. 🙂

Bunny Tag

jks-bunny-tag-copy.jpg

I decided to design a little bunny tag for today’s project. I just love this sweet little bunny image, Bunny Presents from the new Tom Allen stamp line by Cornish Heritage Farms. If you noticed yesterday’s post, you’ll know how much fun I’ve been having coloring them. I love this particular image of the bunny wrapping the carrot…you can use it for Easter (I’m attaching it to a chocolate gift) or just use it for a present any time of year. I also love jks-bunny-tag-close-copy.jpgthe matching sentiment. I didn’t use it because I didn’t have room on the tag but it is… Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

I stamped my image and then cut it down to size before coloring in with my Copic markers. With a tag…there is not much room for a layout so I simply matted the image before adhering to my patterned paper on the tag. A little stitching, edge sponging and some fun embellishments take it up a notch. Mini safety pin is from Creative Impressions, Prima flower and May Arts ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Quick Tip: To add lace to the bottom of your project, simply zig zag stitch it on. Also…Don’t be afraid to cut larger images down to their focal point if you want to create a smaller project.

Wishing you a very happy Easter!

Some Friendly Kritters…

I just couldn’t resist today’s SCS sketch challenge paired up with this new Friendly Kritters release from Cornish Heritage Farms. As I mentioned yesterday…CHF has a new line out that is so darling! I had so much fun sitting watching my little guy play this morning and coloring away at this design. He thought it was super cute too and kept checking back to see how it was coming along. i think I may have to stamp out some images for the boys to color on. The little ones are still at the age where they want to be like mom and dad. The teenagers…well, that is another story. 😉

Spring Chipmunks

jks-chipmunks.jpg

Today’s SCS sketch is a lovely one. I switched up the proportions slightly to make it work with this image and paired it up with some beautiful new cardstock that came in the mail today. Three boxes full. I have NO idea how the postal lady carried them all stacked to my door. She said she got her workout for the day! LOL I love brown, blue, and green together so I paired up Frosted Teal, Frosted Kiwi and Birchtone Dark Prismatics cardstock for a fresh look. I kept the stamping and embellishments simple and clean as I wanted to focus on the coloring of the image and the sketch had lots going on already.

My Helpful Chipmunks image is stamped in Pitch Black Adirondack ink onto Natural Smooth Prism cardstock. To color my image, I pulled out my Copic markers. Have you seen Debbie Olsen’s Copic coloring tutorial?! absolutely fabulous! Debbie rocks! After coloring my image, I stitched around the image and then added a simple embellishment…acrylic flowers from American Crafts held in with a rhinestone brad.

Have a fabulous day!

Sweet Girl…

I just love this darling stamp image. It reminds me of my daughter when she was younger. Little girls are so sweet. When creating this card, the little dress reminded me of a beautiful smocked dress I had made for her in blue. Blue dress, blond hair…so sweet. I don’t smock any longer. It’s a beautiful craft but I must admit…time consuming. I know that the time will come when I pick up that needle again. I’m sure I won’t be able resist down the road when my children are old enough to have children of their own.

Little One Love

jks-little-one-love.jpg

To create this design, I stamped the main image, Sweet One Collage stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, using my Black Palette Ink. After watercoloring using my Niji waterbrush and my dye ink pads, I distressed the edges using my Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser before stitching to the design.

I’ve been wanting to try out my Weathered Wood Distress Crackle Paint and brushed some over my Maya Road chipboard flourish. I just love the crackle of this paint and am finding more and more great applications for it. Distress Crackle Paint is the product spotlight at CHF for another two days. If you are thinking of trying some, now is a great time as it is on sale.

Quick Tip: Use watercolor paper for your stamped images if you plan on watercoloring them. The ease and depth of the coloring is much improved over cardstock.

I thought I’d include a couple quick pics of one of the dresses I created. The light is not great here this morning so I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. It was a last minute idea that popped into my head. I love seeing photos of the things that inspire people and thought you might like the same.

jks-blue-gingham-smocked-dr.jpg

Dress was created with a Chery Williams Basic Square Yoke Dress pattern using blue Pima cotton gingham, DMC embroidery floss. I believe the smocking plate was from an issue of Australian Smocking and Embroidery. It seems impossible to believe I made this dress 10 years ago this spring.
