quilted

I don’t quite know where the days go. Designing goes in cycles of seasons and releases. It’s now time for preparing for Summer CHA and it seems I was just designing for the last one.

Today’s card is a simple quilted design using squares of my Victoria Park line Tiny Tablet. I made it last January and wow…it’s almost June.

Quick Tip: When adhering zipper trims, use a VERY strong dry adhesive so that it will stay in place. Notching the corners of the zipper fabric as you turn a corner will help it lay flat.

i {heart} gingham

Gingham is such a classic. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.

Today I’ve paired up lots of gingham for a sweet baby card design.

Look closely! Did you notice it all lines up seamlessly? I love that.

vintage thoughts

Shabby and vintage are styles that I can never seem to get enough of. The texture, the distressing, the collage-style of putting pieces together to make a whole…well, it’s just a design style that comes naturally for me.

Today’s card is one I created last year just for fun with scraps from my desk. If you read Cards magazine, you just may have seen it before as it was published in a previous issue. I’ve been trying to figure out which one but the answer seems to be eluding me at the moment.

I’m still infatuated with canvas. I purchased this canvas at a local fabric store and then tore it into strips to create a frayed edge. I love the texture it gives this simple rolled flower embellishment. The canvas is simply rolled and spiraled onto a Gluber.

Have a beautiful day!

bright

I just cannot tell you how happy I am to have my daughter home for the summer. It is such a blessing that she is becoming one of my best friends and she brightens the house with her presence. We have a ton of creative projects planned for the summer. We’ve started sewing and stitching already and this afternoon includes a trip to the nursery to start a garden overhaul. Every big job is so much better when you have four hands instead of two.

Today on the Lily Bee blog, I’m sharing this layout as a second take on the Lily Bee Sketch Challenge #9. We’d love to have you play along. Check it out!

for mom

Mother’s Day is just a couple short weeks away. My Mother-in-Law is very special and I wanted to create a unique card for her. I think she’ll like the fact that I designed the paper as well as the card.

Today in the CLASSroom I’m sharing how I created this card design. It features an Index Journaling card used to create a belly band for the design. I hope you’ll join me here for the photos, instructions and step outs.

Have a fabulous weekend!

a quick hello

Wow. Wednesday.

This week seems to be going by at the speed of light. I’m running out the door for a grade four field trip today. I’ll be making sure that I’m well fortified with Advil. Something tells me that I just may end up with a headache.

Here’s a super quick card for today. It’s a sweet and simple card that focuses on the rule of thirds.

in the sunshine

Ready for another sunshine inspired card? I’m really into yellow these days. Don’t you love spring?

Today I’m back with a spring themed card design. Sorry for the little blog break over the past few days. It’s a busy time here in my household and over the weekend we moved my daughter back home for the summer. It’s so wonderful to have all seven of us under one roof again. I’m such a happy mama.

I’ve really been enjoying the Buttercup line from Lily Bee Design lately. It’s so delicate and pretty and the color combo is gorgeous. This card uses the Tiny Tablet with its smaller scaled prints.

I’ve also used the Victoria Park stamp set to stamp on these pretty wood butterfly accents.

Today on the Lily Bee Design blog we’re focusing on card designs. I’m sharing this card and another one and there is other beautiful inspiration from other designers as well. Stop by here and check it out!
