stamp, stamp, stamp

I can’t tell you have excited I am to finally get back into my scrap room and get inky! I know you haven’t noticed as I work ahead and still have had lots to post, but I’ve been busy digital designing for the past couple weeks and I finally got some time to get downstairs for a short time this afternoon. Feels so good to sit at my desk and play for a while.

Calling my name were some fun goodies that I ordered in a moment of weakness. Cosmo Cricket paper. Unity Stamps. Fun times.

Doesn’t this Unity stamp set work so well with the paper. Of course…I’m a sucker for anything floral.

Do you own dye markers? I love using them on solid stamps to ink them up in various colors. Color. Stamp. Done. I’ve used 5 different Memento Markers on this Unity stamp to get lots of depth to the flower image.  To get all the inks blended well, I start by coloring the rubber with the lightest of the marker colors. The entire rose was colored with Rosebud marker and then highlighted by brusing on  Rhubarb Stalk and Lady Bug ink to add depth. The leaves were colored completely with Pear Tart ink and then a tiny bit of Cottage Ivy added in at the edge. I’ve also stamped the sentiment and an ultra-subtle background.

Supplies: white cardstock by Bazzill, Cream Cardstock by Neenah, Tiny Attacher by Advantus, Circa Journal Stamp and A Thing of Beauty Stamp Set by Unity, Memento Markers by Tsukineko, Odds & Ends Papers by Cosmo Cricket, tulle by Bazzill, twine, Crystal Trinket Pins by Maya Road
