Hambly Screen Prints

It’s Hambly Screen Prints week at Craft Critique! I was so excited to have the opportunity to review some of Hambly Screen Prints products! I’ve been seeing Hambly popping up in Papercrafts and Scrapbooking magazines and I just love its fun, fresh, trendy look! So many cool products! Hambly is best known for its fabulous transparencies. They are so uber-cool! I have never seen such beautiful transparencies and the quality and weight of them are unmatched. Hambly also prints the most gorgeous silk screened paper with metallic inks and if you are into rub-ons, these are a must try! Below is a card design from my article and if you wish, you can check out the rest of the article, Hooray for Hambly.

Hambly Transparency Card

This card design was so simple to create. I just loved the intricate beauty of the printed design. This transparency came in a 12×12 sheet with four different coordinating square designs. I love how you can use it for a full layout or cut it in half to design a transparency card. Once the card was cut, I carefully folded it and went over the crease mulitple times to get a crisp fold.

For the front of my card, I couldn’t resist pulling out my dahlia stamp again from Fabulous Flowers. I stamped it in the middle of the circle with White Stazon. Once dry, I stamped happiness from the Warm Words set by Stampin Up in black Stazon over the top. To add a quick embellishment that would add to the design but not take away from its simplicity, I knotted a small piece of black dotted organdy ribbon and attached it to the front of the card with a glue dot.

Quick Tip: Glue dots are fabulous for adhering embellishments to acetate. They adhere really well as and are very small and inconspicuous and these are always the two challenges when working with acetate or transparencies.

Inside my design, I needed a spot to write as well as frame the flower and make it stand out on the front. I used my Coluzzle circle template and companion circle to cut out a circle in Taken with Teal and then matted it with Whisper White before adhering to my card design.
