My Shepherd

Just a quick card from me today. A few weeks ago I had printed some Printables onto Avery Printable Fabric and created some projects. I still had this Lord is my Shepherd image piece and finally got it made into a card. The image comes in color so it’s super quick and easy to use. The Avery Printable Fabric can be stitched or ironed on but in this case, I just used some adhesive on the back and a couple staples as accents.

It’s the time of the season for giving. I’m crazy busy trying to finish off  my shopping list. I have a lot of people to buy for. I haven’t started wrapping yet but that is on the agenda this weekend. Which got me thinking about creating some tags for those special gifts. I’d love to have you play along with today’s Ways to Use Tags challenge. You can check it out here.

I’ve been enjoying following along with the 12 Tags of Christmas at Tim Holtz and the CLASSroom over the past few days.  There are some super fabulous techniques and inspired me to get inky for my No Peeking Tag.

 No Peeking Tag

This tag is super easy to create. I simply sponged on Distress ink on the tag and then flicked it with some water droplets. The tag was quick to dry with my heat gun and then I stamped my Night Before Christmas stamps randomly over the surface. I created the fun clear tag by layering a clear epoxy merry christmas sticker over a clear Fragment tag. To make it stand out, I lightly pressed the back of the fragment ink my white opaque Stazon pad to get a light sprinkling of “snow”.

Quick Tip: I use a Ranger Non-stick Craft sheet over my work surface for  inky projects to make cleanup easy.

Celebrate

I’m celebrating being in my new craft room. Every day I get a little more organized and each evening, hubby has been working hard on finishing up trim and closets and shelves. And I’m so excited that I’m having fun playing again! Now and then life just seems to get so crazy and it can just steal the joy out of creating. While this new craft room is certainly helping get me excited about creating again, one other thing I like to do to get myself back at it is to give myself the freedom to just use things up and play with my scraps and anything that catches my fancy. Just have some simple fun and rediscover the joy of creating just for the sake of it.

While I’ve been cleaning and sorting, I filled up a big shoebox with embellishments and ribbon and scraps that I really wanted to use up and not throw out. My challenge to myself is to use something from the box on almost every project over the next few weeks. To stop hoarding and start using. Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to…

My first card in my new craft room.
