Boo to You!

Boo!

Yikes! It’s September!

Already!

Fall always seems to sneak up on me each year when I’m not looking. I’m sure it’s just me sticking my head in the sand and not wanting to think about how quickly the summer flies by. I’m determined to turn a blind eye to it at least until after Labour Day on the 5th. School starts on the 6th and once it arrives, I’ll sniff a little but be glad to settle back into a schedule and enjoy a quiet house during the day. There is a list as long as my arm with things I have to do waiting for me. But it will wait. Right now it’s still summer in my mind and the time with my kids is precious.

Today’s card uses the Thankful for You stamp set by Avocado Arts. I may have told how much I love this stamp set but it bears repeating. I just couldn’t put it down and made three cards with it back to back. Since this summer has been so busy, finding the time to do so was almost a miracle in itself.

You might not know it from the above photo but I’ve put this fun little scene together with quite a few different stamp images. The trick to this is careful masking. Masking is an easy technique if you just take your time and cut precisely. Since there are quite a few steps, I thought I’d list them for you in case you want to recreate this little scene.

Stamping and Masking steps…

  1. stamp the stem and then mask
  2. stamp the pumpkin and then mask it
  3. stamp the spider web
  4. stamp the pumpkin face
  5. stamp the sentiment and cut out. adhere with a pop dot after watercoloring the image.
