IT’S TIME TO STAMP OUT CANCER!!!!

Welcome to the second annual Blog 4 Boobies fundraiser!

I’m excited to be part of this blog hop to help raise money for breast cancer research. Cancer touches so many lives. This card is for my friends and family who battle breast cancer.

This is day 3 of a 3 day blog bounce(hop) where EVERY CARD OR PROJECT is up for auction!

Last year with your help Skipping Stones Design raised and donated $1108.99 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It is our goal to raise $1500 this year and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! There are 3 ways you can join in on the fun(draising)

1. You can help by Going shopping!

For every stamp set that you purchase during August 15th through the 23rd SSD will donate $2 to the Komen Foundation.  Stamping and shopping that you can feel good about !   Click  Here to laugh at  some of our funniest stamps  Click Here to be inspired or Click here to see everything we’ve got!

Here are two of my all time favorite sets:

Victorian Summer

Heartsong

2. You can help by *Bidding!

Another way you can help us raise money for the Komen Foundation is to *bid on a project or card along the blog bounce(hop).  YES! EVERY Single card/project along the blogs for boobies bounce is up for auction.  We recommend a starting bid of $5 or more. Your *Bid not only includes the card or project but shipping to your home as well.   * See how to place a bid for more detailed instructions.

If you are the highest bidder August 23rd 8:00 p.m. mountain time then you WIN the card/project that you bid on.

3. You can help by Telling Your Friends~

Help us spread the word about “blogs 4 boobies”  the more people that know, the more money we can raise!!!

If you have a blog feel free to  copy and paste part or all of our Blogs 4 Boobies posts.

*”How to place a bid on a card/project”

Step #1

Find the comment section of the blog that shows the “Blogs 4 boobies” card or project that you want to buy.  *Please note you may only bid on the card/project shown in the specific “blogs 4 boobies” post. *Any bids not placed on the correct post will be considered invalid.

Step #2

Once you are in the “blogs 4 boobies” comment section fill in the dollar and cents amount of what you are willing to pay for the card/project.  We recommend a starting bid of $5 or more. Remember your bid includes shipping as well as the card/or project.  100% of the money your bid will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation

Step #3

Next to your $ bid please type in your email address. During a silent auction bidders sign their name next to their bid. Typing your email address is the electronic equivalent of signing your bid.  Also it will help the blogger contact you if you are the highest bidder.

Step #4

Watch and wait.

Once you have entered your bid/comment sit back and wait.  If someone out bids you then you may bid again.  Bidding will continue until 8:00 p.m. Mountain time August 23rd

* Please note that the participating stampers/bloggers will probably re-post their Blogs 4 Boobies card/project on the 23rdof August.  When the blogger re-post their project  then the bidding will continue on the NEWEST post and that comment section.

“What do I do once I place a bid”

Watch and Wait

The “Winner of the Auction” Will be the highest bid (that includes an email address)in the comment section of the MOST RECENT blogs 4 boobies post at the end of the silent auction.  Please note that ALL cards/projects WILL BE REPOSTED on the 23rd of August.  The silent auction will end at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time on August 23rd .

Things to keep in mind:

Near the end of the bidding you may not see bids as they come in. Most blog have a comment feature where the blogger must approve comments before they are published.  So bid high.  You might have the highest bid that is published, but someone might have outbid you in an unpublished comment/bid.

The blogger/designer will declare who has won the silent auction.  Skipping Stones Design will send you an invoice for your donation/bid amount.  Please pay that invoice as soon as possible, so the designer can get your card/project in the mail to you.

Remember 100% of your bid will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

fresh sketches from the market

A good sketch challenge is always a great challenge to get you creating. I love sketches!

Today I’m excited to take part in my first Market Street sketch challenge and use some beautiful Market Street stamps. They are peach, smell great and are a dream to stamp with.

I’ve taken a few creative liberties with the sketch today. If you’d like to check out the sketch, please stop by here.

All That You Do

Ready for a new peek?

With school just around the corner, it’s been on my mind. Back to school shopping has inspired some school themed crafting and I was excited to come up with this fun card using three stamp sets that aren’t school-themed at all! Don’t you love it when you can mix and match?

First of all the little apple and sentiment is a sneak peek at the upcoming September stamp set called Thankful for You by Avocado Arts. I can’t wait to show you more of this set as I know you’re going to love it!

Most of the time when I stamp, I love keeping the main focus on the stamped images themselves. That’s why you’ll find most of my stamped cards in a clean and simple style.

This card is easy to recreate. I’ve used the lines from the ZipnBy stamp set to arrange the school elements and the sentiment around. Make sure you stamp and mask the globe first so that they don’t overlap. Another quick little detail about the globe…it looks much more like a school globe if you just use a ruler and a fine permanent marker to add in the axis. Can you tell I adore this little sphere stamp? It’s the same one that makes the hot air balloon you see here.

Lastly the abc’s came from the AvocadoType stamp set that is perfect for scrapbooking and creating your own sentiments for cards. Love it!

Today the rest of the Avocado Arts Design Team is sharing sneak peeks as well. Check it out…

FYI…Did you know that Jenni Bowlin Inks are made by Ranger? That means they have Ranger’s fabulous quality of ink and also work well with all Ranger Inks.

Supplies:  Thankful for You stamp set, ZipnBy stamp set and AvocadoType stamp set by Avocado Arts, kraft & White cardstock by Bazzill, Soap Powder & Stick Candy Ink by Jenni Bowlin, Vermillion Archival Ink and Jet Black Archival Ink by Ranger, Tiny Attacher by Advantus, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink by Ranger, Lille Printed PaperTape by 7 Gypsies

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thankful for YOU…

enjoy the ride

I think I just may have fallen in love with yellow.

I’ve never been a yellow girl. Usually I’m drawn to blues and greens with a hit of pink now and then. But now that I’ve been challenged to use it, well, I’m lovin’ on that warm sunshiney color!

I had a bunch of sweet little Lily Bee scraps left over from creating this layout and just had to make them into a card. It just feels like summer to me. Speaking of summer, the current weather is so beautiful. Warm, breezy and no humidity. I love it!

Quick Tip: Mix and match dots and circle elements throughout a design for a fun cohesive look.

Supplies: Solar White Cardstock by Neenah, Daisy Scallop Edger punch by EK Success, Happily Lost and Butter Stationery patterned paper & Happily Lost Mixed Cardstock Stickers by Lily Bee Design, velvet ribbon, Crystal Trinket Pins by Maya Road, Canvas Tag Mini Pieces by Maya road, twine, Tiny Attacher by Advantus, Gingham Posies by Maya Road, Ruffle Blossoms by Maya Road

Enjoy your day!

Lace Pop

It’s CLASSroom time!

Today I’m excited to be back in the CLASSroom. I love sharing crafting ideas and tutorials there.

Since I saw the beautiful Basic Grey Lace Stickers, I’ve been dying  to try this idea out. It really makes lace pop.

Have a fabulous weekend!

an ordinary day

Life is full of ordinary days. We tend to celebrate the events in our lives. Those big moments. But what about the little daily moments? If we take time to pause, we’ll realize that these are the ones that make up the fabric of our lives. Those joys of family, simple pleasures. There is joy in the ordinary if we take the time to look.

Today’s layout chronicles a simple day in the yard with my son a couple months ago. We didn’t do anything special. Just enjoyed the outdoors and each others company. But it is still worth remembering.

This layout was created for a post today on the Lily Bee Design blog. I love the This & That line as it’s perfect for using on, well, this & that. As you can see I’ve used lots of stamping on this layout. Stamping is a great and inexpensive way to layer images and add accents without adding bulk to a scrapbook page.

Check out the fun graphic style flowers. I think they are cute, whimsical and so easy to create using the banner stickers from the Lily Bee Cardstock Sticker sheets.

Quick Tip: I love using the Ranger Archival Inks on my scrapbook layouts as they are permanent and fade resistant.

Supplies: This & That patterned paper: Brooch, Pretty Fabric & Postcard, This & That stamp set, This & That Mixed Cardstock Stickers, Happily Lost Stamp Set, Lily Bee Stationery patterned paper: Butter by Lily Bee Design, Vermilion Archival Ink by Ranger, Jet Black Archival ink by Ranger, Leaf by Prima, Tiny Attacher by Advantus, wood letters by, Dymo Label maker, sewing machine, Red Vintage Style buttons by Jenni Bowlin, twine, kraft tag by Maya Road

Wishing you a day of ordinary miracles…

merci

I took a little break today from my to do list to just have some creative time for me. Some times when I just want to create I sit down and just play. Other times, like today, I turn to a challenge or two for inspiration. My favorite places to go for a challenge? Splitcoaststampers.com has been a long-time favorite and over the past year, Cath at Moxie Fab World has the most fabulous challenges that I always want to play along with. Today I decided to combine the two. SCS has a reverse masking technique challenge and once again I’m squeaking in at the last minute to play along with the MFW Botanical challenge. There’s still time to play along here.

I’ve always adore botanicals. It’s a style that suits me to a “t”. I love to collage the images together and add ink for a vintage feel.

To add in reverse masking for the TLC challenge, I’ve put a die cut doily onto the background and sponged ink around it leaving the reverse image of the doily.

Supplies: Carte Postale Stamp Set by Unity, Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set by Unity,  Old Letter Writing Background stamp by Hero Arts, Antique Linen Distress Ink by Ranger, leaves by Prima, Jet Black Archival Ink by Ranger, Tumbled Glass Distress Ink by Ranger, Shabby Shutters Distress ink by Ranger, Leaf Trinket Pins by Maya road, Tiny Attacher by Advantus, twine, glass embellishment by Prima, kraft cardstock by Bazzill, Solar White Cardstock by Neenah
