Call Me

Today I have to learn how to let go.

My oldest moves out today. I’m so excited for him and his new opportunity, I know it’s time but the house just won’t be the same without him. He doesn’t like things all sentimental so I’ll keep this short and sweet. I love him and he will be very much missed. I’m counting on him calling and coming home often.

I’m so thankful for technology, aren’t you? The way we can keep in touch pretty much anywhere.

Yesterday I thought I’d create a little felt pouch to store my phone in and protect it. It’s a sweet little pouch  and if you don’t have a phone, it can be used for many other things. Today I’m in the CLASSroom with a tutorial and step outs. Here’s the link.

Now I’m off to get busy as it’s going to be a crazy day!

Have a fabulous weekend!

lots of emotions. my daughter has moved into a town house to attend school. crazy how much you can miss someone who’s always been physically around.
how exciting to start a new chapter in their lives. enjoy and make him keep in touch.
    love the pouch

  2. My kids are only 5 but as I look back at how fast the baby years went I know that soon we will be faced with them moving out. I took them to a birthday party recently and they both informed me that I could just leave and come back to get them. I was a little sad/happy. I’m happy they are secure enough with me that they know I’ll come get them, but a little sad that they are growing way too soon.
Love the pouch, I might try to make one this weekend!

  3. That wings part of the old “roots and wings” sentiment is definitely the toughest. My best to both of you.

  4. very cute pouch, yes I am very thankful for today’s technology, I know I wouldn’t hear from my daughter near as much if not for the texting and cell phone.

  5. Love the pouch, it is adorable!
Loves to you on this weekend with all these changes, being a parent is so hard, but you have done a fantastic job :o)

  6. What a CUTE idea for a phone pouch! LOVE IT.

BIG HUGS to you – trust me, I know how hard today is for you. Just know all of the wonderful things you taught him will guide him and even grown up kids know there’s no place like home! 🙂

  7. Thinking of you! What an awesome mama you are! And… I LOVE THE POUCH. I’m going to make one. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh Julia, I can imagine how hard this is. I have two boys leaving for college in the fall and it’s difficult to even think about. Seems like the time has gone by so fast to bring us to this point. I’m sure your son will be in touch often and he will look forward to all the wonderful hand stamped cards you will send him. 🙂
