Monthly Archives: February 2011

just hanging out

Finally! The last day of February.

This means spring MUST certainly be right around the corner. I’m certainly hoping.

I really thought that going somewhere warm in the winter for the first time ever would make the winter seem better. I was WRONG!

We loved our vacation in Florida and enjoyed every minute of it but really, it’s just making us long for summer all that much more. I miss those shorts and t-shirts.

Today I have a layout for you from our Florida trip. Some of the best times were spent just hanging out. And here’s my cutie-patootie doing just that…

So…here’s a question for you…

Can you tell that I used Christmas themed product for this layout?

It’s Christmas Town by Lily Bee Design. Love those colors! Today on the Lily Bee blog, three of the designers (including me) were challenged to use Christmas Town for a non-holiday themed layout. I’m loving it! Check out the other ideas here.

Happy Monday!

Stamping On Canvas

Canvas is such a great texture and it’s a fabulous trend that is perfect for altering. I’ve been having a lot of fun creating with it.

Isn’t this Maya Road canvas dress darling stamped?

Today I’m in the CLASSroom with the above project and one more with a tutorial on stamping on canvas. I hope you’ll stop by and join me!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Round & Round

Life seems so busy right now, I feel like I’m spinning.

Anyone else feel the same?!

While I don’t like to feel as if my life is going in circles, I do love designing with them.

How about a circular card design using my new Picket Fence line?

Today I have this card and another on the Lily Bee Blog. Stop by if you have the time and check them out here.

Off to tackle my huge to do list!

Sketch Inspiration

Like to design from sketches?

I do! I also love creating them.

Paper Crafts Magazine has a fabulous new project in the works and wants you to submit cards using some uber- fabulous sketches.

I was excited to have quite a few of my submitted sketches as part of this special issue. Here’s one of them…

My other sketches are numbers 4,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,16,18&20

Want to play along? You can find the current calls and the sketch details here. Remember…it’s a cards issue so that’s what you need to create.

Good luck!!!!

Sew Much

I love sewing.

I rarely sew except on paper these days but I do love it.

Both my grandmother’s were excellent seamstresses. I remember being fascinated by one of them in particular who had an old treadle sewing machine. She made the most beautiful quilts with it. Amazing!

Today’s card takes a look back to those beautiful vintage machines…

Thanks Sew Much

Floral pocket

Happy Monday!

How many of you have a holiday today? Here in Ontario we’re celebrating Family Day. Love it! Spending time with family is a wonderful excuse for a holiday and I’m all for it. We don’t have much on the agenda. Just hanging out, playing games and enjoying a relaxing day. Sounds great to me!

For those of you who need a little breath of fresh air from the winter, here’s a card full of springtime…

I love the idea of having a fabric pocket. I’ve used the Webster’s Pages Vintage Inspired Netting here and you can see through it to the embellishments underneath. So fun!
