enTWINEd

One simple item keeps showing up in my designs these days. I simply can’t see to help myself. In fact, many times I actually have to restrain myself from using it to keep things all looking the same.

What is it?

Twine.

Simple huh? I don’t know why it holds such a fascination. Perhaps it’s the  texture and it does go with pretty much anything. It’s super easy to tie. It’s plain and not overwhelming.

I just love it.

Wouldn’t using twine make for a fun challenge? I hope you think so. It’s Thursday so check out the challenge here.

The other day I needed a sympathy card. I love a soft natural look for them so out came the twine, the kraft cardstock and some fun canvas.

The canvas is from Prima and comes printed with a lovely fine text. I stamped and embossed a beautiful damask Hero Arts stamp onto the canvas to make a resist. The background was then spritzed with Glimmer Mist and after dry, stamped with some Hero Arts leaves.

Quick Tip: Ranger Archival inks work really well for stamping on fabric. Stamp and then heat set when done.

Supplies: kraft cardstock by Bazzill, Leaf Prints stamp set (sentiment &leaves stamps) & Speckled Elements (damask stamp) by Hero Arts, Viva Pink & Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, twine, printed canvas by Prima, wood embellishment by K & Company, Leaf Trinket Pins by Maya Road, Inkssentials White Gel Pen by Ranger, Jet Black Archival Ink and Crushed Olive Distress ink by Ranger

Happy Creating!
