go fly a kite

I’m picking up my daughter tonight at the airport. Two weeks just flew by as it is summer but I’m so glad to have her home again. That is the longest I’ve ever been away from any of my children. I think the previous maximum was four days. Can you tell we don’t travel much?! We’re also a pretty close family and I love that.

Our life is all about simple things. Time together. Building sand castles. Things like flying a kite.

Fly a Kite

This layout is based on this week’s great sketch, #112, by Creative Scrappers. I love that stitched frame and the fun layers. Try it out with us here.

The beautiful vibrant patterned paper and chipboard is from the Hello Sunshine line by Lily Bee Design. The kite is created with the Maya Road Mixed Scallop Triangle Banner Chipboard set. The fun clouds are handcut from patterned paper and then accented with Diamond Stickles.

To add interest to the background paper and give it a “sky” look, I spritzed it with Peacock Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.

It’s also my third child’s 15th birthday today. Where has the time gone?! I can’t believe how much he’s grown up in this past year, vertically as well as personally. I’m so proud.  Happy birthday David!

Have a fabulous day!
