Thinking of you

I created this card for a friend going through some difficult  days. It’s sad that we have times like this in our lives, but we do and so we need thinking of you cards to share our thoughts and prayers. Life isn’t always pretty but just knowing someone cares can help.

A little shabby chic today with Girls’ Paperie scraps. I just cannot throw out a single bit.

To go along with the soft and shabby look of the card, I painted this metal bird from the Tim Holtz Adornments Package with Studio Line Gesso. I figured the gesso would hold on the metal better than straight acrylic paint and was pleased with how well it worked. After  the gesso dried I sanded off some of the gesso with a Sanding Block to reveal some of the metal for a subtle look.

Supplies: cardstock by Bazzill, Girls’ Paperie Patterned paper, sewing machine, glitter chipboard by Melissa Frances, button by Jenni Bowlin, twine, flower by Prima, Gesso, metal charm – Adornments by Advantus, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink by Ranger, rub-on by American Crafts

Thanks for stopping by!
