It’s about Time

It’s about time…

to celebrate the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010. Wow! A brand new decade to boot! It’s amazing how fast this year has flown by. It was a bit of a crazy one for us and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.

I thought this would be the perfect time to have a challenge about time. Find ways to use it. Of course we all use our time to create pretty designs but how about working the concept of time into a project. A calendar, a clock image, a countdown, I’d even count an over the hill card! Have fun with this challenge and be sure to play along here.

2010 Glitz

I know this is supposed to be a stamping challenge but you’ll have to look close to find the stamping in this design. I truly meant to add a little more but hey! I was having fun so it’s all good. At least I think so.

Wishing you a year of blessing to come,

Retro Wednesday

It’s cold outside! We’re finally getting lots of snow after a very non-white Christmas and we’re loving it. Although it makes travel a bit  of a pain, we’re nice and cozy at home and the boys and the puppy are enjoying it immensely. I had a great day yesterday getting things done. We’re starting a new renovation project and did a lot of furniture moving and then I got to spend the afternoon in my craft room. It was exciting to get back in there and cook up some creations.

I also wanted to take the time to mention that Ellen Hutson has the Twelve Days of Christmas going on in the CLASSroom right now. The projects are incredible and each post has an exciting giveaway that you won’t want to miss. Make sure you comment on them all!

You are Hot

I love mixing up patterns and this June Bug paper was so much fun to work with. It’s not specifically designed as a valentine line but I think all the red makes it work well. I love this Domestic Love stamp set that Becky Olsen designed. It’s SO much fun! Vintage and quirky and easy to use.

Keep warm and keep creating!

Just Sayin Hi

Good morning! Just popping in to say…

Hi!

hi.jpg

I’m excited to have hubby home for the week so we’re busy trying to get things done around the house. We’re hoping for a little sleeping in too of course, some games with the kids and I hope to squeeze in another book or maybe even two! I’m a fast reader which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. It’s also been a very bizarre year here in Ontario for weather. We didn’t have a white Christmas where I am, much to our dismay. It’s finally starting to snow and we’re hoping for enough to take the boys tobogganing, build a snowman and all that fun winter stuff. They say that “little snow is big snow” so we’re hoping! If you’ve never heard that before…it seems that the small flakes of snow usually add up to a large amount or “big” snow while large fluffy flakes usually don’t add up to much in the long run at all! Today I’m itching to get back in my craft room but instead just finished cleaning a lot of the surfaces and putting it out the door. Hubby is planning on finishing trimming the window today but it involves a lot of dust and grinding however he needs to do it so creating it out. This will be a good thing though as it’s the last major thing to do in the craft room. After that it’s just finishing painting the trim for me and then I’ll probably be able to finally show it all off. After years of no space of my own…I’m just loving it. This of course, was my major Christmas gift this year and I’m thrilled.

A quick bit of news as well...if you’re looking for great end of the year sales, Ellen Hutson has a ONE day sale for Inventory Reduction so if you still have things on your wishlist, now is a great time to get them! Check out the details here.

This is just a quick card I was having fun with. A while ago, ok, quite a while ago, I ran a piece of Making Memories metal sheet through my Cuttlebug. I just love how it turned out but I kept hoarding it until I finally made it into this simple card.

Quick Tip: Simple cards are best to highlight a special technique.

I hope you’re all enjoying your holidays! Have a creative day,

Simply Saturday…simply graphic

Happy Boxing Day! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We certainly did and were thrilled to spend the day with hubby’s family, including his sister home from Alberta. Another wonderful turkey dinner and pie for dessert. Today we’re just keeping things low key. The little boys are playing with their toys, the teenagers watched a movie and I’ve been enjoying a new book. I’m loving a day not to go anywhere or do anything. It’s a rare occasion I tell ya! No after Christmas sales for us. There’s no money to spend but that’s OK. We truly have everything we need, especially love.

Graphic Inchie Card

graphic-inchie-card.jpg

In keeping with my Simply Saturday theme, I have a simple Inchie card to share today. This card uses Inchies, Inchies Plus and Twinchies stacked up for a simple graphic look. I’ve used Maya Road rub-ons on the white inchies for a little embellishment.

Thanks so much to all of your who left Christmas wishes!

Have a simply wonderful day!

Adore Him…A Christmas Day Wish

I’ve written a tutorial for this card on the CLASSroom today. Check it out here if you’re interested.

I also want to wish you and yours, the merriest of Christmases and a year of blessing to come.

With love,

Twas the Night Before Christmas

It’s the day before Christmas and I’m busy scurrying around. Pies to bake, laundry and cleaning to do, last minute presents to wrap. Anyone else? Oh well…it will all get done! Even though it’s the 24th, it’s still Thursday and I have a challenge for those of you who actually have some creating time today. I’ve kept it super simple…the challenge is to find ways to use Background Stamps. I know we’ve done this one before but not for a while and it’s always a fun challenge. Check out the challenge here.

It’s also time to announce the winner of the two scrapblocks from my giveaway this week. Number 27 was chosen by the random.org number generator. Congratulations Paula Bairn! Please send me your address and I’ll get them in the mail. Merry Christmas to you and all my readers. Thanks for all your lovely comments and for taking the time to read my blog. I truly appreciate it!
B Mine

For my card, I’ve used the Love Scrapblock again. It was on my desk so I hope you won’t mind seeing it again. This Scrapblock is a collage of words and sentiments. For the Background challenge, I’ve used is as the background and then stamped it again and cut out one of the phrases for my sentiment. I’ve also stamped the tag with another background, the Newspaper Ads Scrapblock.

Couldn’t resist

I just couldn’t resist using up some more of my Jolly by Golly to make a few last Christmas cards. These were created with very small scraps leftover from a project I’ll share on Friday with you. It just goes to show you, you don’t need a lot to make a fun little project. The second card is a tiny one that I’m going to use as a gift tag on a present.

A few quick things as well…don’t miss  commenting on this post for a chance to win a couple Scrapblocks in my giveaway. We also have a fun Christmas giveaway on Every Thing Creative. Check it out here.
