And so it begins…another busy year of school, lunches, homework, practices etc. On one hand I’m so grateful for the return to scheduling, a little peace and quiet during the day but oh…I’m going to miss the long days of summer, time on the water, the smell of sunscreen, sticky ice cream kisses and lazy morning snuggles. There is just nothing quite like summer. We ended up eking out the last few days of summer on the sand over the weekend and so it was a great way to finish up. This morning the backpacks are packed,lunches have been made, the back to school photos taken and now we’re off to meet the new teachers. Wish us luck as three of the four attending school this year are starting a new school.

Candlelit Winter
This card is an early Christmas card using a Shady Tree Studio release, Home for the Holidays. It’s actually more of a square shaped image but I wanted it long and more narrow so I die cut it with a Spellbinders die.
Quick Tip: To create a candle glow effect, take a very light yellow Copic marker and flick the color away from flame.
