Two cards, one sketch

I’m quickly becoming addicted to the Card Patterns Blog sketches. This time I “had” to create two different cards in different looks. OK. I will admit to stretching the sketch a little but if you look close, it’s all there. 🙂 I created these Saturday…a very rainy day so we didn’t get to the beach but I DID get a few designs created, relaxed and also found my desk again! Fast forward to Monday…I was out shopping, the fabulous scrap supply kind :), and came home to an e-mail from Card Patterns. I won the sketch 26 challenge last week (card here) and will be next week’s guest designer. How cool is that?! Stay tuned….

Anyhow…here’s the sketch, the link and my interpretations. 🙂

 Butterfly Friends

The square center of this design may be a little hard to see but I DID incorporate that part of the sketch. I stitched the square element onto the paper. I found this turquoise paper while cleaning my desk. Yes, I know it’s amazing what is to be found there. As I absolutely adore it, I had to use it up rather than throw it out. It’s actually interesting how many of my favorite projects use those desk scraps!

Supplies: cardstock by CHF, patterned paper by Making Memories and Fancy Pants Designs, sewing machine, butterfly Grungeboard, crepe paper ribbon by Jenni Bowlin, Tim Holtz mini stapler, Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger, flower by Prima, metal tag by Making Memories

Take care and have a great day!
