Just playin around…

I’ve been having a little fun today…just playin around. I needed to take a break and decided to make something just for fun. I also did a little photo editing on a few of the thousands of photos I’ve snapped this summer. I’ve learned that the more photos you take, the better the chance you have of getting one you love. With digital…there’s no expense so why not?! So here’s little peek at what I’ve been doing today!

After cleaning up my stamps…all 19 sets that I had scattered around ( I know,  I seriously need some help!) I decided I wasn’t going to pull them out again and instead came up with this scrappy card design. It was all stuff I had laying around my desk  and it was fun to put it together. Card Patterns had a great sketch this week and as I’ve been meaning to play along on their site, it was a great time. Using a sketch always makes the process so much simpler as a lot of the thinking is done for you. I turned this sketch on it’s side to make it work with the paper I wanted to use.

My garden has been blooming beautifully this year with all the rain we’ve had. OK. The weeds have been doing well too but I’m getting there. 😉 I like flowers that I can’t kill and lilies and daylilies always seem to do well. I brought one of my Stargazer lilies into the house yesterday. Isn’t it gorgeous? The detail the Creator put into this work of art always amazes me!

I’ve been asked for more puppy pictures. I’m having some serious issues with getting pictures of a puppy who will not stay still! He’s keeping all of us on our toes. It actually took THREE of us to catch him last night after I let him out for a run. His ears are starting to half stand up and he’s almost doubled in size the past two weeks. He’s chewing everything in sight and has started digging a  hole under one of our tress. He is such a DOG! lol A puppy is a totally different kettle of fish than the lovely old guardian we had. Here he is after his first bath. You can see how thrilled he was. 😉

And lastly…here’s my two littlest ones at a splash pad last week…

…summer fun at its best!

Enjoy your summer weekend!

and still more Christmas!

I must confess, that I still have MORE Christmas designs to share with you. July was a super busy month and here’s a few cards I haven’t had time to share here yet. I think this may be the last of Christmas until September as I can spy a super sweet winter set on the calendar then. 🙂 These two designs feature images from the B&O line release the other week. The first does have a train in the picture but you may be wondering how the Mary and Joseph image fits into this train line. B&O has a beautiful collection of vintage art to choose from and Lisa couldn’t resist using this classic image. I’m so glad as I love it!

Christmastide Train

I’m loving the way this color combo turned out but I must confess, I was actually going to with an aqua and green with kraft color combo for this project. I pulled out my Distressed Circles Scrapblock to add a background with and inked it up with white pigment ink. Imagine my surprise after stamping when I realized I had put the rubber away without properly cleaning off the pink ink. The resulting color is actually really pretty so I went with it. I’ve been searching for the project I last stamped with the Scrapblock in hopes that I might be able to figure out exactly what ink was on there but sorry…I just can’t figure it out.

This image is so beautiful and detailed, I decided to leave it simple and just highlight in some of the Christmas tree lights. I dotted on soft aqua and pink color with my Copic markers for an easy and vintage look.

Quick Tip: Do as I say…not as I do! 😉 Clean your rubber BEFORE you put it away.

Christmas Travelers

This image is so pretty stamped on its own, I went with a super clean look. I love using all white cardstock for a project. By adding texture and ink, it is easy to define the layers but gives a very classic, subtle look.
