Wood like to share…

Don’t you love going down a new path and learning new things? Don’t worry…I’m not veering from my stamping and paper crafting endeavors but I am having a little fun by taking another photography course. I loved Candace Stringham’s Oh Shoot class that I took in March and am thrilled to be starting her latest Portrait Photography class. I can’t wait to learn and practice and hopefully see a big improvement in my summer photos this year.

One of the trends in papercrafting right now is wood grain. CHF is right on trend with their Wood Grain Backgrounder. It looks fabulous stamped tone on tone, in browns for masculine card but I especially love it stamped in fun funky colors for a trendy look. It’s amazing how by changing up the color, the stamping surface or changing from ink to paint, really changes the tone of your design.

Roads in a Wood

Cath from Paper Crafts once again has another Moxie Fab challenge. I’m sure you’ve guess by now it is Wood grain product in a design. My design features some pink Adirondack paint dabbed over the stamp and then pressed onto a Clear Card Sheet. I thought it would be a fun, unique look to put the transparency over some funky plaid paper. I couldn’t resist adding this Robert Frost, roads in a wood quote to play up on the wood theme. To further play up on wood…I added a darling little chipboard tree with a sweet bird. I love my Distress Crackle Paint and it was a great way to get wood-like texture onto the tree.

Have a great Monday!
