Sweet Birdie

I just love white on white. Especially white on vellum. It’s so pretty and so simple. Today I have a sweet spring design for you using my new Ornamental Borders Scrapblock. The past week has just flown by and it’s release day tomorrow, already! This Scrapblock looks so delicate stamped onto vellum cardstock.  On vellum cards I often stitch in a solid piece of cardstock on this inside for writing on. This also adds a soft touch of color to the front of the card and sets of the white stamping.

I know the cardboard look isn’t for everyone but I love the shabby feel of it! To play up on it I tear off the top layer of cardboard to reveal the corrogated inner core. I also love adding a white-washed look by adding some paint with a white paint dabber.

Quick Tip: Heat set pigment ink when stamping on vellum. Another alternative would be to use white Versamagic Ink by Tsukineko as it is specially formatted to dry on vellum.

 Have a beautiful day!
