Life is Beautiful

Life is beautiful. In a bud in spring, in icy frost in winter, in a newborn’s soft downy skin, in the pattern of wood, in a slobbery toddler’s kiss, a rainbow, a hand to hold, a caring touch, in music that touches your heart. Beauty is found in time spent for others, in day dreams, jumping in puddles, in the wrinkles of a well worn face, in courage, in the words of a favorite book.  Beauty is far more than a magazine shot. Beauty is within. Some times if we’re overwhelmed, it can be hard to find but it is still there. We just have to look. I think that finding beauty ties in so closely with having an attitude of gratitude. It’s something we have to work at and take the time to appreciate. Being thankful in everything and looking past the superficial, enjoying the miracles around us.

I’d love to hear about what is beautiful in your life. Tell me in  a comment on this post between now and Thursday 9pm EST and I’ll celebrate my birthday with you by sharing my new Ornamental Beauty stamp set and some extra goodies with one lucky winner. A Beautiful Birthday

 jks-beau-t-close.jpg

I have to tell you, it’s a doubly exciting day for me. It’s my birthday and the best present is that it’s also the release date for my first full stamp set. I just had to bounce a little when Liz set the release date. She had no idea. Don’t you love it when things happen like that? Also… the Scrapbook garage sale went incredibly well. Incredibly! I now have so many new goodies that I hardly know what to use first. Better yet…I still have a huge credit left over. I’ve just decided I’m going to invest it into some really great storage for my new room.

To date I’ve given you a few sneak peeks at the set to show you how versatile it is. Perhaps you’ve already seen it on the CHF newsletter (that’s a great way of getting info on what’s coming up) but if not…here it is. I designed it to be flexible and for cardmakers and scrapbookers alike. I also tried to cram in as many yummy stamps into this set as possible. There’s 23 to be exact. You can find this set at Cornish Heritage Farms here. If you’re looking for other samples, check out the CHF gallery here. Sherrie has done a fabulous job creating beautiful samples.

Ornamental Beauty

Using the ornamental circle and the flourish as a flower and leaf combo was something I thought about when designing this set. I thought it would be a very pretty and creative way to get even more use from these stamps. I actually envisioned a more elegant version with soft colors but I picked up these fun and funky papers yesterday and just couldn’t resist  giving it a fun, scrappy look. With all the snow we got yesterday, I needed lively! It’s April! It also gives you ideas for using this set for different looks.

Beautiful Things

Quick Tip: Adhere seed beads with Glossy or Matte Accents. It works as a fabulous and quick drying adhesive.

I’m off to have a stamping fun day! Have a good one!
