Beautiful Blooms

I have to tell you…some of my absolute favorite stamps just have to be flowers. They have to be one of the most flexible images on the planet. They work on a card design for almost every situation. Flowers are also a design element you find just about everywhere. Fabric, books, art, and we never get tired of them. Actually…my good china pattern has flowers on it. Now here’s a story for you. I started collecting my china when I was twelve. Yes, 12. I know I’m a little odd but that’s ok. So when my sweetie and I got engaged, I showed him my china. I was super excited about setting up house. He was quite incredulous that you would have a flower pattern on dishes. I’m not sure what planet he was on but I took him to the china department and at that time, about 90% of the china had floral patterns. That put an end to his complaint. Not that it really mattered. I’d been collecting for years and what we he going to do about it?! 😉

OK, that was totally off-topic and random but back to the flowers. I love them! Liz has decided to celebrate the soon arrival of spring and has put all individual flower images on sale 20% until Thursday as the CHF product spotlight. That includes some of the new Shady Tree Studio flowers so make sure you check them out.

For this design I was really inspired by this October Afternoon patterned paper. It’s from the Good Cheer 8×8 paper pack and is really, holiday paper. I couldn’t resist repurposing it to spring with the beautiful color combo and prints. The flower is stamp on the top left of the design and colored in with Copic Markers. Don’t be afraid to use your markers on patterned paper. I haven’t come across any that will bleed yet but check on a scrap to be sure.

Floral Masterpiece

Quick Tip:  Try stamping on wide ribbon with your sentiment and make it do double-duty as an embellishment as well.

Make today your masterpiece and enjoy it!
