Rose Garden – Tuesday

I don’t know about you, but I am starting to dream of Spring. We’ve had another blast of winter over the past few days and I just can’t wait for April for that fresh spring smell.I have no doubt that March is going to spin by at the speed of light though! I’m signed up for two new courses at Jessica Sprague. One photography and the other Digi in Deep. If you like digital layouts, I’m sure I’ll be back sharing more of those soon! I’ also really excited to be taking a Copic Certification Course in Toronto next month as well. With some other things I’m working on right now, I’m not sure when I’ll get time to sleep!

Today’s design is a little taste of warmer weather with a beautiful garden image. I love this Rose Garden Thomas Kinkade stamp. I think it just may be my favorite from this line.  This design was created for the Embossing Challenge over the weekend and I tried out a technique that I’ve done with other images but have never seen done with a Kinkade.

Embossed Rose Garden

My image was first stamped in  Spanish Moss Versafine Ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The embossing also makes a resist over the image. This makes it super easy to go back with watercolors and lightly paint in the flowers that are left white in the image. I was thrilled with the soft look and how you couldn’t goof up the coloring if you tried! If you do get some ink onto the embossing, it will just bead up on top and you can wipe it off with a tissue.

Here’s a close-up of the embossing. I’m not usually a huge fan of embossing but wow…it looks fabulous here. I love the dimension it adds to the scene.

Quick Tip: Versafine Ink by Tsukineko is fabulous for stamping in color with the Thomas Kinkade Images. You can also emboss over it for a beautiful look.

Have a fabulous day!
