Simply Saturday…two very different kinds of simple

I love creating simple cards and usually dedicate Saturday posts to them. Saturday is such a great day to relax and be simple. I have two card designs to share with you today. They both focus on warm color schemes but one is a simple scrappy-style design and the other, simply stamped. Actually, until I started writing this post I didn’t realize how many things they have in common. They are both square cards, both have stitching, both use two dark copper brads in the design.

Warm Bloom

My first card was so simple to make. I really had no intention of putting these items together when I purchased them but when they arrived, they worked so well that I just had to. I love the rich oranges and rusty red. This design focuses on geometric shapes. I stitched along the edges of the “squares” on the paper to highlight them. The beautiful Prima flowers are called Lollipops. They come predistressed as layers of circles and I just love the feel of them. The paper almost feels like a leathery fabric. Cool!

Seek Him

It’s been a long time since I pulled out my Spectrum ink pads. I remember when I first started stamping being so fascinated with them. This design features the new Thomas Kinkade Sunrise stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and I think the rainbow effect works so well with the theme of this stamp. I was rummaging through my Thomas Kinkade sentiments trying to decide what to use with this image. I found the Wise men still seek Him stamp and thought…how true. Although it was really a Christmas release, it works perfectly for an Easter or inspirational theme as well.
