simply saturday, simply love

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and love is in the air. A few snow flurries too! Something I like to do to relax and also use up some scraps is to make easy, scrappy cards. I hate throwing out scraps of what I’ve been designing with and I also love re-purposing product for another event. It just occurred to me that none of the product I used was actually specifically Valentine’s Day product. The heart pin is part of a spring/baby colored theme of pins and the loved chipboard piece, a “family” themed  5th Avenue collection from Making Memories.

This big pink luscious Prima flower has been sitting around forever! lol I love to hoard beautiful things. Enough is enough though and I finally put it to good use! I thought it would give the card a fun look to spell the sentiment luv, instead of love. It also saved some of my more “precious” vowels for another project.

Want a glimpse into some paper I’ve been designing with lately…just check out this card. I couldn’t bring myself to through out these so pretty scraps, even though they are pretty tiny. The easiest way to do this is glue all your strips onto a thin sheet of paper, then cut to size. As you can see, I’m loving these Making Memories’ chipboard letters!

Quick Tip: Think of fun ways to use products. Just because we might be a little more thrifty right now does not mean we can’t have fun. Stretch your creativity and you’ll be glad you did!

Have a simply wonderful day!

  1. I love that big flower on the first card. I would be hoarding it too. Thanks for the inspriation to use up those scraps. I save mine too and some days only pull out of those to make a card. It is fun to mix and match paper from different companies.
