Simply Saturday…WCD

Yay! It’s World Cardmaking Day! Anyone have special plans for it? I wish I could be stamping but we have a family wedding to attend. Family first, right? 🙂  Happy Wedding Day Mary and Darren!

Today’s design in one of the samples I made for WCD. This one fits both my snow challenge as well as my simply Saturday theme. I totally love this Thomas Kinkade Christmas series paper. For this design, I actually cut one of the large, 8×8 images in half to create this 4 x 8.5″ card design. Don’t be afraid to cut these papers!

As I wanted to go with a super clean look for this design, I looked for simple ways not to cover up the beauty of the paper. Touches of stitching add a little interest and a peek-a-boo sentiment is a great addition. Simply punch your card design and stamp the sentiment underneath. Simple embellishments like the Creative Impressions felt snowflake, a few rhinestones and the Making Memories clip tab add to the elegance without taking away from the design.

Happy World Cardmaking Day!
