An On-line Class…

OK, yes..I do realize this is my third post of the day! I apologize profusely! I’m madly trying to get caught up after my week away so I hope you’ll forgive me.

Over the next few months, we’ll be holding on-line classes each week at Cornish Heritage Farms to get you ready for the holidays. There are lots of fun and easy projects and I hope you’ll join us. I’ll be holding a class on Tuesday August 5th and you can check out the details here.

Take care,

Julia

All that Glitters…. a challenge

Glitter…it’s such a beautiful addition to a holiday or feminine project. I’ve been playing around with it more lately, so much so that it seems I always have some on me! It is amazing at how so little of it will go a long way! As it’s Monday…we have another fun challenge for you today and you guessed it…it’s glitter. If you’re looking for ideas for using and adhering glitter…I’ve written a product spotlight about it . I hope you’ll find some time to play along with the challenge…details here. 🙂

Kristine and Lisa have also created some great samples for you for this challenge.

Birthday Bliss

I created this card for a friend of mine. She loves Thomas Kinkade, stitching, glitter and Basic Grey so I’m hoping she’ll like it and forgive me for it being late. I actually made it a couple weeks ago but in the mad frenzy of getting ready to go away…it’s still here! Sigh…one of my many faults. To create this design..I inked up the Thomas Kinkade The Rose Garden stamp with Burnt Umber ink leaving the edges faded off and un-inked. I love the soft dreamy style look and played up on it by adding soft color with my chalks. Edges of my panel are inked with Brushed Corduroy ink and then stitched to my main card before ruffling up the edges. The Follow Your Bliss sentiment is stamped right on top of the image.

Quick Tip: Try inking only part of your stamp to zero in on your focus.

To create my background, I used my fave new backgrounder, Writer’s Block, stamped right on top of my Basic Grey Euphoria patterned paper. To add in my glitter…I used a Sakura Glue Pen to trace around my bracket and then sprinkle with glitter. It’s very difficult to see in this photo but so pretty in real life…I highlighted the roses with dots of glue sprinkled with glitter to add sparkle to the image.

The Winner…

Ok…I couldn’t wait any longer! 🙂 It’s Monday right?

Thanks so much to all of you who stopped by and commented on my post for a chance to win the Rummage Bin stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. It seems that I went of vacation and didn’t manage to upload the photo of the stamps before I set the post. So bizarre as I had thought I had! I thought I’d add the pic again here. These stamps are unmounted red rubber with a cling mount backing…just cut them out and adhere to an acrylic block.
