Snip, snip….

Pull out your scissors and use them for something OTHER than cutting ribbon! That’s what I usually use mine for and I wanted to break out of my rut and try something different. I was at the Post Office yesterday getting some designs away and those taxes šŸ™ (here in Canada the deadline is the 30th) and came across the latest issue of Creating Keepsakes. They had one article on apple green inspiration and wow…the fashion and home dec product photos they had were stunning. I just had to give a white and bright green combo a whirl.

This design also uses a fun new product from Cornish Heritage FarmsCHF Clear Card Sheets. If you’ve ordered unmounted CHF stamp sets in the past you may have noticed the fabulous thick clear sheets they come on. I certainly did. The possibilities started rolling through my mind and it wasn’t long till I was pleading with Liz to sell them. These clear card sheets come in a package of 5 8.5 x 11″ clear sheets that can be cut in two to make a total of 10 clear cards or simply use them as a transparency layer. These aren’t thin and flimsy like the transparencies you buy from the office supply store. You need to try them to see how thick and fabulous they are!

Today’s Ways to Use it Challenge is to use your scissors. I can’t wait to see all the fun ways you use them! To play along…check it out at WT163

Spring Smile

For this design, I folded a 5.25″ square card and stamped my Shady Daisy stamp in Colorbox White Pigment ink onto the Spring Willow Medium cardstock. After cutting out around the flower with my scissors, I adhered a piece of white cardstock behind and then cut a small border around the petals again. I cut a 5.25″ square piece of Clear Card Sheets and stamped on it with my new Tiled Scallops Backgrounder stamp (to be released tomorrow) with White Stazon Ink. To add in the sentiment, I simply stamped Smile from the Photo Op stamp set and then tied the left side of the design with my green gingham ribbon from Creative Impressions.

Don’t forget to smile!
