Heartfelt Thanks – A WT challenge

Today’s challenge may be a little bit of a challenge for some of you. We’re doing something a little different and finding ways to use Rub-on Transfers. I love rub-on transfers for a quick project and a clean look. There are many types of rub-ons available today. The traditional black, white, many colors, even metallic and fuzzy rub-ons. I love the selection. Rub-ons can be used on many surfaces such as paper, glass, plastic, ceramic, paint, chipboard….the possibilities are almost endless. Many times run-ons are combined with patterned paper but I’ve seen them layered together with stamping for a beautiful look…a very popular mixed media approach. Rub-ons can also be combined with beautiful embellishments to add dimension to your design. If you don’t have any rub-ons to play with, check this out. I’ve never tried it but it has instructions for creating your own. I’ve also seen instructions using a spray but can’t seem to locate it. I hope you’ll take this Rub-on Challenge, find some ways to use them and above all have fun with it. Check it out at WT

Heartfelt Thanks

For this design, I layered together some Fancy Pants patterned paper from their Aged Florals line. The main panel section is actually a coaster covered with paper and then rub-ons applied to it. The sentiment, brown flourish and pink flowers are all rub-on transfers. Fancy Pants, along with Basic Grey make up a huge part of my rub-ons collection. I love their styles and ease of use. The Heartfelt Thanks sentiment is by Deja Views and is a fabulous source for sentiments…also very easy to use.

The rub-on/paper covered coaster panel is embellished with some Prima flowers and a Making Memories velvet brad. The chipboard photo corner is covered with more FP paper and is from Basic Grey. The main card base is layered with Rose Red cardstock and more Aged Florals paper and stitched.

Have fun with the challenge!
