It’s Party Time!

A fun little invitation design is my theme for today’s post. πŸ™‚ I love a party and this darling new It’s a Party set by Lizzie Anne Designs is perfect for creating fun invitations. I’m of the belief that party invites shouldn’t be too involved to create as you usually have to make quite a few of them. πŸ™‚ This is also a great day to feature this stamp set as it is party time at Lizzie Anne Designs. Today is the release date of their latest fabulous designs… ten new single stamps and THIRTEEN beautiful sets. You’re going to love them as there is a style for everyone. πŸ™‚

Fun and Floral It’s Party Time

This design was inspired by this gorgeous patterned paper from Autumn Leaves. I adore the fresh hip look…perfect for a teenage girl! You know how much I love soft teal and aqua colors and mixed with flourishes…I just couldn’t resist. To keep it fresh, I layered it onto a white card base and then picked up some colors to add on top. No…your eyes aren’t deceiving you…that IS Pink Passion paired up with Ruby Red and the aqua. I can honestly say I never would have thought of this color combo except that I pulled it directly from that paper… bright pink and ruby red. It IS pretty funky but in a fun way…it actually works! I mean really…if it works for Rhonna Farrer…I’m willing to run with it. πŸ˜‰ I can’t wait to find some time to try it out again.

My large save the date stamp was inked with Pink Passion and stamped onto some Whisper White cardstock. The name was easy to write in with a permanent marker and then I punched out the layer with my Marvy Jumbo Circle Punch. To mat it…this is where I worked in the Ruby Red…punched out another Marvy punch…the scalloped circle punch. I softened and highlighted the edges with some white craft ink wiped over the edges.

On to the background…I’ve been having a great time with my Hambly Screen Prints transparencies lately. I love how thick and sturdy they are and love adding that extra dimension and hit of attitude they seem to have. I had so much fun last year reviewing their products for Craft Critique…if you want to read more about them, you can check it out here. πŸ™‚ On top of my grid transparency, I stamped the It’s a Party flower in white stazon. Once dry I added some flourishes from the So Swirly set in black Stazon and a tiny accent sentiment…it’s*party*time. To hold my transparency in place, a little zig zag stitching in opposite corners does the trick. After adhering on the scalloped layer, I simply added some Prima flowers as simple embellishments, there centers held with tiny black flower Making Memories brads.

Wishing you a fabulous day! If you decide to have a little fun with a unique color combo, feel free to share the link here! I’d love to see what you’ve done! Check back in tomorrow for another fresh spring design. πŸ™‚
