Copper Angel

For today’s color challenge, I decided to give it a whirl with my new Flourishes stamp set. Love the detail to this beautiful angel. This set and two others will be released tomorrow…that’s October 3rd. Make sure you check them out. They are three really great sets…two for Christmas with lots of options and one really sweet set! 🙂

Joyeux Noel

As I mentioned above, this card was for the color challenge using Blue Bayou, River Rock and Chocolate Chip. While not traditional Christmas colors, I decided to give it a try. I thought copper embossing might work well with this combo and give it a more festive look so I embossed the angel. This is also a really quick way to make an elegant card.

After embossing my design and layering it onto my layers of chocolate chip, river rock, and very vanilla, I felt the image needed a little lightening. I’ve seen bleaching done inside images before but thought I wanted somethign quick and fast.   Another busy day here! My white Stampin Up watercolor crayon did the trick and after watercoloring it on, gave a faux bleached look.

My main card base is a 5.5″ square of Very Vanilla. I layered it with Blue Bayou stamped with a tiny background stamp of little star designs. It was so easy to line them up using the clear stamps.  I loved the Joyeux Noel stamp that is part of this set…I think it works well with the elegant images and color scheme. I stamped it in Blue Bayou and framed it with my pewter Hodgepodge hardware. The top corner is embellished with some May Arts ribbon threaded through a piece of Hodgepodge hardware buckle adn adhered behind the design.

And yay! Another Christmas card is done! 🙂 I’m having fun getting quite a collection early this year. 🙂
