Christmas in July…

Well, we’re not celebrating Christmas but I thought these little flowers looked so much like snowflakes that I just had to make a Christmas design with my Text Boxed Papertrey Ink set. 🙂 This new Soft Sky paper is sooo pretty with white,  just add glitter for a cool frosty look.

Text Boxed Snowflakes

For this card design, I started off with a 5″ square whisper white card base. The Soft Sky (love this new color!, sorry it looks a tad green in the pic) layer was then stamped with the graphic flower in Soft Sky. I then stamped it randomly again with my great Essential Glue Pad and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter for a sparkly, snowflake look.

The main image is stamped with one of my favorite new inks…a little Versamagic Sea Breeze pad. I’ve been wanting to try out this cool idea that I saw Gina K do a few weeks ago with scalloped squares. It was one of those…smack….why did I not think of that kind of things! You take two scalloped squares and overlap them by one scalloped to adhere. Then run a ribbon over the seam, behind your main image! Cool! I was just bouncing to discover that it was the PERFECT! size for all the Text Boxed reverse images!!!! I punched out my scalloped squares from Whisper White cardstock. Not only does it match the color scheme, but I think it looks a little like puffy snowdrifts. Use your imagination and humor me here! 😉

For the seam, I used this gorgeous ribbon I picked up at the Scrapbook Studio. I love Carolee’s Creations and this ribbon is the perfect color! The sentiment is stamped in Palette Noir ink and is from the fabulous Faux Ribbon set. In the centers of those snowflakes/flowers, I added some clear crystal brads by Making Memories …gotta have a little bling, you know! The last little addition to this design is a beautiful snowflake brad in a perfectly coordinating color. Love it when I have just the right embellishment! 🙂 LOL You’d think it would happen more, if you saw the stash of embellies I’ve stashed away!

Have a fabulous week!
