I made this card for today’s Ways to Use it Challenge. The challenge this week is to Mix up your product lines. There are so many cool new products out there, just released from CHA! Why stick to one?! The idea came to me when I came home from my local scrapbook store the other day. To play along in this challenge, the WT102 thread is here. All are welcome!
Hula Celebrate
This card is made with a top hinged black 4.25″ x 5.5″ card fold. The beautiful Crate Avenue paper was just calling my name so I had to play with it. I bought my paper from Jacksonbelle. This prima was sitting on my desk and I thought Hmmmm….pretty combo and thus this card was started. The Crate paper was stitched on my sewing machine and then I scruffed up the edges with my nails….very technical…grin. The hula girl is stamped on vanilla cardstock and watercolored with my inks and aquapainter. I sponged up the edges of the layer and overstamped it with a stamp from Itty bitty backgrounds (SU). The flowers are highlighted with a glitter gel pen by Sakura to give her some sparkle. The edges were then distressed with my little pink Heidi Swapp edge distresser….so cheap and well worth the money! The burlap layer adds a little touch of texture and warmth to the project. I just love the tropical Prima flower so I added that and attached it with my all-time favorite…We R Memory Keepers designer snaps and eyelets.
